10 More Days

So even though the guys like to stress themselves out working right up until the trick-or-treaters are coming up the drive way, I prefer to be ready weeks ahead of time.

We decorated the inside of the house on the equinox--no..we don't love Halloween too much.

Happy Halloween!

Never Again!!!

OK...So this may not be a surprise to you, but every year there comes a time where I say...never again. Sometimes it's before Halloween, but almost always it's after. "Never Again", I say over and over to deaf ears. NO MORE HAUNTED HOUSE...NO MORE HALLOWEEN PARTY. NO MORE MESSES!!!

But then they build it...and the people come. They come in packs and crowds by the dozens...maybe even hundreds. They come every year and they love it. How can I say never again???

Stay tuned for pictures of the completed Haunted House...and if I'm not having "tooo" good of time I'll post pics from the party too!

Here She Is...Mia

I have to track her down these days just to get a picture. I promise ...she does exist.

A Day At the Museum

Yesterday we went to the Natural History Museum in LA with our homeschool group. We had a great time! I haven't been in several years and I had forgotten how you can just lose yourself in those corridors. We never made it to the American History Hall (my fav)because we spent too much time in the California History Hall--which was AMAZING!!! Anyway--for those of you who haven't been in awhile--definitely worth a visit! I'm still waiting on a real camera, so excuse the blurry pictures. This is a miniature model of LA

I love these pics of Jane. She felt like such a big girl eating in the cafe at her own table. We see just how big she is next to that Polar Bear!

This baby Trex was actually walking around on the second floor. Jane loved it although she thought it was a dog!

Ava kept saying"It's just like Grampa's movie."

Can't wait to come back!

A Taste of Fall

So.... I wake up this morning and it REALLY does feel like Fall. I mean really..it was like 60 degrees which is a big deal since it was 100 a few days ago. I turned on the Halloween lights and did what anyone else in my position would do. I baked bread. I am loving this new cookbook. The easiest way to make bread I've ever found. I am sooo enjoying this weather. I'm sure the thermometer will go back up this week, but until it does, let them eat bread.

Pumpkin Patch Love

Forgive me for not having too much to say. I'm playing catchup and trying to get all of these photos uploaded. Believe me , I am never at a loss for words. These pics were taken on our first cool day of the year--I think it was 80 degrees!

Gracie my love!

Alex is such an amazing big brother!!!

Ava-my big 7 year old!

Sweet Baby Jane...Can't get enough of her!

Ava and my niece Alexa make it to the middle of the corn maze!

This is our Autumn tradition. Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark is such a blast. We watched animal shows, went on a wagon ride, bought pumpkins and lots more! Really helps me feel all Halloweeny inside!
By the way, some of you may have noticed that Mia is MIA from these pictures. She brought a friend along to the pumpkin patch and they were lost in the corn maze for most of the day.

First Fall Project

Do you remember making these in elementary school? Well, I had just as much fun 35 years later. Fall leaves ironed with crayon shavings in between wax paper.

I was going through my camera today when I came across some pictures from the summer that never made it on to my old blog. I felt guilty just deleting them and not even giving them a chance to be seen. Am I the only one who finds it hard to delete my kids. Silly, I know, but I just don't care how bad the picture is...that moment will never exist again. So, before I get started on a new homeschooling year or the holidays being right around the corner or who I think should be president or the Haunted House we're building or...you get the picture. Here are just a couple of summer memories.
